The Varier Thatsit is the most adjustable chair in the Varir family – a premium ergonomic kneeling chair designed by Peter Opsvik in 1991. The chair tips your hips forward into an open, upright posture and shares your weight between your hips and shins, but Thatsit adds a concave backrest you can lean into and a generous, wider seat built for longer sessions and taller bodies. Thatsit is made to be tuned to you. The backrest adjusts in both height and depth, the shin rests adjust in height, and armrests give you somewhere to rest as you settle in. Curved wooden runners let the chair rock gently, so it finds balance whether you lean forward to focus or recline back to think – support without ever locking you in one position. It pairs with standard desks around 71-76 cm and suits people roughly 150-205 cm tall, tested for use up to 242 lb (110 kg). The frame is molded beech plywood finished with an ash veneer and water-based lacquer: flexible, strong and made to last. Designed in Norway and made in Europe, Thatsit brings movement, adjustability and Scandinavian craftsmanship to a home office, study or creative workspace. Moving to a kneeling chair takes a little adjustment, so build up your sitting time gradually over the first weeks. All Varier products come with a industry leading 10 year limited manufacturer product warranty.
ADJUSTABLE ERGONOMIC KNEELING CHAIR – Thatsit tips your hips into an open angle so you sit tall and engage your core, with adjustable settings to dial in your ideal fit at a desk.
RECLINING BACKREST WITH ARMRESTS – Unlike a backless knee stool, Thatsit adds a concave backrest you can lean into, with armrests for support, adjustable in both height and depth.
HEIGHT-ADJUSTABLE SHIN RESTS – Set the knee pad height to match your body so your weight sits comfortably between your hips and shins through long work or study sessions.
ROCKS FOR ACTIVE SITTING – Curved wooden runners let the chair rock gently and find balance whether you lean forward to work or recline back, keeping you moving instead of static.
GENEROUS SEAT FOR ALL SIZES – A wider seat and larger frame make this knee chair comfortable for taller users; suited to people roughly 150-205 cm and tested up to 242 lb (110 kg).
